Kim Brandt – Bipolar Patients: How Identify & Treat

Learning Objectives:
·    Discuss the role of the primary care physician in bipolar disorder (BD)
·    Be familiar with the criteria for BD
·    Understand the difference between the symptoms of BD and other mood and personality disorders
·    Review treatment strategies for BD in the primary care setting
·    Understand contraindications and monitoring recommendations of common medications used to treat BD

Accreditation Statements:
The Missouri Association of Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons (MAOPS) is accredited by the American Osteopathic Association to provide osteopathic continuing medical education for physicians. MAOPS designates this program for a maximum of .5 AOA Category 1-A credits and will report CME and specialty credits commensurate with the extent of the physician’s participation.

Grievance Policy:
