Learning Objectives:
- Identify the most common psychiatric illnesses seen in the primary care setting.
- Review mood disorders, anxiety disorders, and ADHD in patients in the primary care setting.
- Examine treatment options for depressive disorder, anxiety disorders and ADHD in patients in the primary care setting.
- Identify those patients who should be referred to a psychiatric specialist.
The Indiana Osteopathic Association is accredited by the American Osteopathic Association to provide osteopathic continuing medical education for physicians and designates this program for a maximum of 1.0 AOA Category 1-A credits and will report CME and specialty credits commensurate with the extent of the physician's participation in this activity.
It is the policy of the IOA that any physician dissatisfied with the CME program will be issued a refund upon request, and no CME credits will be reported to the AOA. Complaints on Evaluation Forms also are taken into consideration when planning future CME programs and may lead to changes in the format or content.

Dr. Goldman is a graduate of the University of Illinois and Washington University School of Law. He later earned his D.O. degree A.T. Still University Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine (ATSUKCOM) in Kirksville, MO. Dr. Goldman completed his internship at the Kirksville Osteopathic Medical Center in Kirksville, MO, and his residency in psychiatry at Vanderbuilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN. Dr. Goldman also completed his fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at Vanderbuilt. He is the Medical Director of The Goldman Group, LLC, a multidisciplinary psychiatry/therapy group. Dr. Goldman serves as a medicolegal consultant, as well as continuing his private psychotherapy and psychopharmacology management practice. He serves as a professor at both Southern Illinois University Medical School in Springfield, IL, and ATSUKCOM. Dr. Goldman was the 2001 recipient of the Max Gutensohn Professor of the Year Award at ATSUKCOM, and has been awarded the Order of Merlin Excalibur by the International Brotherhood of Magicians.
