Is it just simply the gift of gab that works for these people?
And is it even a gift?
And again the answers may not be what you expect.
Based on my 20 years of research, the answer is yes it is a gift.
The harsh reality is most masters of persuasion are born.
They’re just powerful communicators by nature.
It’s something they were born with.
But for many others, it’s a skill that was learned just like playing chess.
Point being, this stuff can be learned.
I’ve spent the past 20 years learning it and the past 10 teaching it.
Who I Am And Why You Should Care
My name is Paul Mascetta and before I started teaching this stuff, I had to actually make this stuff work in the real world.
And let me tell you….that’s no easy feat.
At 18 years old I was thrown to the wolves in boardroom on Wall street with each wolf trying to get his piece of the carcass.
This was a commission based job and I had to quickly figure out how to make sales.
They gave us sales scripts, books and all kinds of literature to read.
They all sucked.
I tried for weeks on end but couldn’t make one single sale.
Then one day I bumped into the guy running the entire show in the bathroom.
His name was Peter and he was an absolute monster when it came to sales.
He could sell anything to anyone.
When guys would struggle with big deals on the phone they would call him over and he would instantly make even the most resistant person spend thousands of dollars.
It was one of those awkward moments where we were both standing side by side at the urinals.
He turned to me and said “You’re new here right?”
Long story short it turns out he knew one of my older cousins and he took a liking to me.
He asked me how serious I was about making money.
I replied “as serious as humanly possible?”
Then he told me something I’ll never forget.
He said..
“If you’re serious about making more money you first need to be serious about persuasion. As a matter of fact, if you’re serious about anything in life, you need to first be serious about persuasion because you ain’t gonna get what you want if you can’t persuade people”.
He then told me to keep studying the sales scripts and books and then when I became competent in all that stuff, he would pull out the BIG guns and share some truly “next level tactics and strategies with me”.
