Welcome to Your Daily Practice, led by Strala founder Tara Stiles. This yoga class gives a total body flow, focusing on your breath-body connection, while building all-over strength and a healthy range of mobility. We’ll also finish with some extra-long, extra-deep restorative time, that will leave you refreshed long after you leave your mat.

1) Connect. Focus on softening and leaving yourself alone so your breath can move you. This gives a perfect practice to drop old habits that don’t work – disconnection from your whole self that wears you out, and keeps you using far more energy to accomplish far less – and is the secret of true connection with who you are.

2) Energize. Moving gracefully through this varied flow will build a lasting sense of refreshed energy throughout your whole self. From sitting, standing, reclining, and everything in between, this routine takes you through a complete feeling experience for your body and mind.

3) Restore. We’ll finish with a few restorative moments, spending many deep breaths in forms that release any last tension attempting to hang on, freeing you to access your refreshed, vibrant self.

Strala combines the movement wisdom of tai chi with the form vocabularies of yoga, tai chi, qigong, and Traditional Chinese Medicine, to help people release stress, heal, and move easily through all kinds of challenge.

It begins with a mindset, that says our best way to get where we’re going is to feel good along the way. It also works miracles for whole health, by helping us learn to bring our entire self into everything we do, unblock energy where it’s stuck, and move more naturally and efficiently through challenge.

In our Strala Training Courses, you learn to shape your destiny on every level that counts, from your psychology, chemistry and neurology, to your chromosomes and even gene expression. The unique set of skills you develop – for connecting with yourself and others, unblocking your energy, healing what needs healing and accomplishing challenge with ease – uncovers your ability to create the life you want, and be an inspiring leader to the people around you.

Strala was created by Tara Stiles, drawing on her background in classical ballet and choreography, as well as her long-time personal practice in yoga. Tara trained with Paul Taylor Dance Company choreographer and dancer Eileen Cropley, and began her yoga study in the 1990s with her ballet teacher, Rory Foster of American Ballet Theater.

The science and movement of Strala is also guided by Strala co-founder Mike Taylor. Mike studied mind-body medicine at Harvard, and complementary medicine at Oxford. He has practiced Eastern movement and healing, including tai chi and qi gong, for 30 years.

Our Strala Trainings combine the movement wisdom of tai chi with the form vocabularies of yoga, tai chi, qigong, and Traditional Chinese and Japanese medicine, to help people release stress, heal, and move easily through all kinds of challenge.

Our program is backed by mind-body medicine pioneer Dr. Deepak Chopra, and Harvard neurology professor and Director of the Genetics and Aging Research Unit at Massachusetts General Hospital, Dr. Rudolph Tanzi.
